Excerpt from SLEEPING BEAUTY AND THE MARINE by Cathie Linz
Sam had a way of looking at a woman as if she were the only female on the planet.
Cassie reminded herself that he probably looked at every woman that way while he was with them, making each one of them feel special.
But telling herself that didn't seem to matter to her heart, which was beating faster than a journalist's heart should. A journalist's heart should be objective, interested in discovering the truth...not in discovering the feel of Sam's hands on her body.
Which brought her back to the fact that none of this was real.
Sam's interest in her wasn't real, because he didn't know the real her.
She was an impostor parading around as a confident whiplash-blonde, a tough chick. But inside she was the same out-of-step loner she'd always been.
For heaven's sake...she was still a virgin!
